Frequently asked questions | PAM N.V.
May I use charts and tables from your research?
Yes, with attribution. All diagrams, tables and charts are available with downloads (PNG and CSV) and a ready-made citation in the PAM Data Library at pamnv.com/data/en.
What is the Suriname Property Monitor?
A quarterly publication by PAM Research & Analytics on the exchange rate, rents, building costs and stock in Greater Paramaribo. The first edition appears in April 2027 covering the first quarter of 2027, with the fourth quarter of 2026 as the baseline. From our own case files we publish only ratios, never numbers or amounts.
What does PAM N.V. do?
PAM N.V. is a young research and valuation firm in Paramaribo, born from a vision of sharing knowledge. We research the Surinamese property market, publish our analyses openly and carry out valuations in accordance with the International Valuation Standards (IVS).
How is PAM different from an estate agent?
PAM does not sell, let or broker property. We research and value. We therefore have no interest in the level of a price; that is the basis for an independent opinion.
Who does PAM work for?
For banks, investors, developers, notaries, lawyers, governments and private individuals who need a well-founded opinion on value or the market.
What is a valuation in accordance with IVS?
A valuation in accordance with the International Valuation Standards fixes the scope, basis of value, currency and valuation date in advance, supports the value with the appropriate methods and states sources, assumptions and special assumptions. The report is thus recognisable and verifiable for international banks and investors as well.
What does a valuation cost?
A value estimate starts from SRD 5,000. A full institutional valuation report starts from € 375. The price depends on the property, purpose and scope; you receive a quotation in advance.
In which currency is the value stated?
In the currency in which the market for the property actually trades; for houses and plots in Greater Paramaribo this is currently mostly the euro. Conversions use the Central Bank of Suriname mid-rate on the valuation date, and the report shows the sensitivity to an exchange-rate movement.
For which purposes can I request a valuation?
Among others for financing, purchase and sale, division of an estate, legal proceedings, financial reporting and investment decisions. The purpose determines the basis of value and is fixed in advance in the engagement letter.
